AIIMS Bathinda organized National Update on Chronic Pain – 2021

The Department of Anesthesiology, Critical Care and Pain Medicine, AIIMS Bathinda in association with the Indian Society for Study of Pain (ISSP) conducted the 1st National Update on Chronic Pain (NUCP 2021).
The conference was inaugurated by Prof. (Dr.) D.K.Singh, Executive Director and CEO, AIIMS Bathinda. NUCP 2021 was organized to celebrate September as the Pain Awareness Month. A comprehensive scientific and academic program was designed by the organizing committee with Dr. Mayank Guptaas the Organizing chairperson. The speakers were eminent national faculty who shared their decades of wisdom on chronic and interventional pain.
The first of its kind conference held over two days witnessed enthusiastic participation by more than 100 delegates in the academic discussions, poster and quiz competitions. An Ultrasound guided workshop on pain interventions conducted on the second day enabled delegates to complement the knowledge gained during the previous day with improvement in practical skills.
The knowledge and skills gained by the doctors from Punjab and neighboring states is expected to improve pain management and improve quality of life of innumerable patients suffering from chronic non-cancer and cancer pain in the region.
