Khalsa College, Patiala bagged Overall Championship

It is a matter of immense pride for Khalsa College, Patiala that the college bagged Overall Championship during the Inter-Zonal Youth Festival held from 26-28th October, 2017.

Prof. Kirpal Singh Badungar, President, Shiromani Gurudwara Parbandhak Committee, Sri Amritsar Sahib, while congratulating the Principal, winners, their parents and teacher incharges of various events and items, said that participation in such events plays a pivotal role in binding the youth to their cultural roots. He emphasized that these activities prove to be significant in the holistic development of the students.

Dr. Dharminder Singh Ubha, Principal, Khalsa College, Patiala expressed his exhilaration on the monumental feat of the college by winning overall champion trophy during the Inter Zonal Youth Festival-2017. It is worth mentioning that Khalsa College, Patiala has placed itself at the top out of 278 colleges, University Campus and Neighborhood  Campus. This is for the first time since its inception that the college has made this remarkable historical achievement in cultural activities. While congratulating the winners, Dr. Ubha said that the students displayed outstanding performance and bagged positions under the able guidance and unstinting efforts of their event incharges. He imparted information that Prof. Kirpal Singh Badungar, President, S.G.P.C. Sri Amritsar Sahib will honour the teacher in charges as well as the winners of various events on 1st November, 2017.

During the Inter Zonal Youth Festival, Khalsa College, Patiala bagged first position in Western Solo Song, Indian Group Song, Elocution, Bhangra and Percussion, second position in Western Solo Instrumental, Group Shabad, Classical Dance and Collage Making, third position in Western Group Song and fourth position in Folk Song and Debate.

Dr. Harvinder Kaur, Dean, Cultural Activities , Khalsa College, Patiala expressed her views that such festivals help in showcasing the latent potential and inculcating the spirit of competition in the students.
