ALERT: avoid these roads in Chandigarh on December 21,22; Chadigarh police issues traffic advisory

In view of the visit of Home Minister of India on 22.12.2023 at Chandigarh, the General Public is hereby informed that:-
Traffic will be diverted/restricted on Uttar Marg at Rajindra Park, Sector 2/3 Small Chowk(Jn.2) to Lake Light Point; on Vigyan Path at Hira Singh Chowk(Jn.11), Golf Turn; and on Sukhna Path at SGGS Light Point to St.Kabir Light Point, Chandigarh during the movement of VVIP.
The general public is requested to avoid the above stretch/road from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM on 22.12.2023.
Traffic will be diverted/ restricted on Sukhna Path at SGGS Light Point, PS East Chowk(Jn.22); on Sarovar Path at A.P. Chowk (Jn.21), Old Labour Chowk (Jn.28), and on entire Dakshin Marg from New Labour Chowk(Jn.35) near Sham Fashion Mall to till Zirakpur Barrier, during the movement of VVIP. The general public is requested to avoid the above stretch/road from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on 22.12.2023.
General public is requested to adopt other alternate routes to avoid any congestion/inconvenience and to reach at their destination before 5 PM to avoid traffic congestion.
Further, general public is requested to follow the social media Account of Chandigarh Traffic Police for real time updates on traffic.
Guests, invitees and official staff are requested to park their vehicles at the designated parking lots only.
General public is advised not to park/ply their vehicles on cycle track/pedestrian pathway and No Parking Area, otherwise strict action shall be taken as per law and vehicles shall be towed away.
Rehearsal for the visit of Home Minister of India shall be held on 21.12.2023 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM and Road users are, therefore, advised to make use of alternative routes during the timings given above.
