All India Seminar on “6G and Beyond” concludes at SLIET Longowal

The two-day All India Seminar on “6G and Beyond: Shaping the Future of Wireless Communication” was successfully organized at Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology, in association with The Institution of Engineers (India) and the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, SLIET, Longowal.

The seminar was inaugurated by Prof. (Dr.) A. S. Arora, Director (Incharge), SLIET Longowal, as Chief Guest. Prof. (Dr.) Tara Singh Kamal attended as Guest of Honour, while Prof. (Dr.) Jagtar Singh Sivia addressed the gathering as a distinguished dignitary.

The function began with a warm welcome by Prof. (Dr.) J. S. Ubhi, Chairman, Bathinda Local Centre, and Convener of the seminar, who formally welcomed the dignitaries and participants and appreciated the overwhelming response to the seminar. He underlined the relevance of organizing such seminars specifically for the students and researcher, to keep pace with rapid technological advancements.

Prof. (Dr.) Tara Singh Kamal emphasized the transformative potential of 6G technology, highlighting its capability to integrate artificial intelligence with next-generation wireless systems. He stressed that 6G will not only enhance speed and connectivity but will also enable intelligent automation, immersive communication, and sustainable digital ecosystems.

The Chief Guest, Prof. (Dr.) A. S. Arora, appreciated the initiative and stressed the importance of such seminars in enhancing technical knowledge and promoting research culture among students and faculty. He encouraged students and researchers to explore new frontiers in wireless technologies.

During the first day, technical sessions were conducted under the chairmanship of Prof. (Dr.) Amar Partap Singh, Professor, ECE Department and Prof. (Dr.) Dalip Kumar, Professor (ECE), SLIET. Expert lectures were delivered by Dr. Manpreet Kaur and Dr. Gagandeep Kaur from YCoE, Talwandi Sabo, followed by students’ paper presentations. Participants actively discussed the latest trends and challenges in next-generation wireless communication technologies.

On the second day, technical sessions were chaired by Prof. (Dr.) Surinder Singh, Dean (R&C) and Prof. (Dr.) Ajaypal Singh, HoD (ECE), SLIET, Longowal. Dr. Alka Singla, SLIET, Longowal and Dr. Harmanjot Singh, Punjabi University, Patiala delivered keynote addresses followed by students’ presentations.

Dr. Alka Singla, Co-convener of the seminar presented a comprehensive report of the seminar, outlining the technical sessions, keynote lectures, research paper presentations, and active participation from scholars and industry experts. The sessions provided a valuable platform for interaction between experts, faculty, and young researchers. The seminar concluded with the presentation of mementos to the dignitaries and finally, Dr. Alka thanked all dignitaries and participants for successful conduct of this programme.

The event was graced by distinguished academicians, including Prof. Amar Partap Singh, Prof. Surinder Singh, Prof. Kamlesh Parsad, Prof. V K Kukreja, Prof. Surita Maini, Prof. Damanpreet Singh, Prof. Manpreet Kaur, Prof. Birmohan Singh, Prof. H R Ghatak, Prof. Avinash Thakur, Dr. Charanjeev Gupta and faculty & staff of ECE department.
