Annual Athletic meet organized at IET Bhaddal Technical Campus

The 22nd Annual Athletic meet of IET Bhaddal Technical Campus was held with great fanfare at the institute playground. The chairman of the organization, Tejinder Singh, encouraged the players and wished them all the best. He motivated the students to avoid drugs and participate in the games with a positive outlook.
After the torch was lit by students competing in sports at the state and university level, the athletes participating in the athletic meet were administered an oath to participate in this sports festival with a sports man like spirit.
On this occasion, the Registrar-cum-Director of the Institute, Dr. S.S. Bindra said that along with studies, sports are also an integral part of student life. Therefore, students should participate in sports as much as possible along with studies for physical and mental development. He said that the character building of a player is achieved through hard work, sweat and strict discipline on the playing field.
Students from all departments of the institute participated in the games and displayed their skills with great enthusiasm and zeal while displaying the spirit of sportsmanship. In this athletic meet, competitions like 100 meters, 200 meters, 400 meters, javelin throw, shot put, sack race, spoon race, discus throw and long jump etc. were held. In the 100 meter race for boys and girls Gulfam and Rajat, in the 200 meter race Akaknsha and Wani Suhail, in the 400 meter race Parminder Kaur and Pankaj Thakur won first place.
In the shot put Parminder Kuar and Parav, in the spoon race Arshiya and Asif, in the long jump Akaknsha and Wani Suhail, in the javelin throw Jashandeep Kaur and Navjot Singh, in the discus throw Parminder Kaur and Parav won first place. Refreshments were arranged for the staff and students by the institute administration.
During the prize distribution ceremony, the prizes were distributed to the winning students by the Institute Registrar-cum-Director Dr. S.S. Bindra. He congratulated the organizing committee for successfully conducting this annual athletic meet. He especially appreciated the role played by Bharat Bhushan and Yogita Sharma in conducting the stage.
On this occasion, Dr. Gurpreet Singh, Dr. Kanchan Sharma, Dr. Kanwalpreet Kaur, Architect Gurpreet Singh, Onkar Singh, Nileshwar Tak, Bhawanpreet Kaur etc. were present, among others.
