Another Capt, Sukhbir loyalist joined BJP

Another former chief minister of Punjab Capt Amarinder Singh’s loyalist Satwant Singh Mohi joins the saffron party. In august 2021, Capt Amarinder Singh has made his son Chandreshwar Singh Mohi as the non official member of the SC Commission. Mohi, remained Congress MLA from Shutrana assembly constituency.
In his last term (2002-2007) Capt Amarinder Singh had made Satwant Singh Mohi, a member of Punjab public service commission (PPSC). Later, he was indicted by SIT in a PPSC job scam and he joined SAD. After, Capt Amarinder Singh became chief minister in 2017, Mohi again joined Congress and even applied for 2019 parliamentary election ticket from Fatehgarh sahib.
Along with him, former akali dal MLA from Fatehgarh Sahib Didar Singh Bhatti too joins BJP. Bhatti earlier left akali dal for not giving him party ticket. He joined Manpreet Badal’s PPP. Then again he joined his parent party SAD. In 2017, he unsuccessfully contested assembly elections from Fatehgarh sahib and lost to Congress stalwart leader Kuljit Singh Nagra.
Both are eyeing saffron party ticket for the upcoming assembly elections.
On their joining BJP, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat Union Minister and election incharge of BJP in the state said “The opposition parties will have a diminishing political space as leaders who have an ideology for reviving Punjab to its previous glory are quitting there party and joining the BJP
Welcoming senior leaders from Congress, SAD today Shekhawat said that Punjabi’s believes in social harmony .
The State BJP President Ashwani Sharma while addressing the media said that Punjab will vote for peace, harmony and prosperity. Only BJP can give the state a government which will be mafia free . A state which was number one today finds itself in total disarray. There is no law and order. The congress chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi and Navjot Singh Sidhu are bickering in public everyday while the public is denied good clean administration. said Ashwani Sharma.
Yesterday’s press conference was attended by Som Prakash State union Minister, Jeevan Gupta, Rajesh Bhaga both state general secretaries, Harjit Singh Grewal, Fateh Jung Bajwa, Rana Gurmit Singh Sodhi, Sarabjit Singh Makker.
The leaders who joined the BJP today along with over 56 prominent persons are former MLAs Didar Singh Bhatti and Satwant Singh Mohi Lakhwinder kaur Garcha ex general Secretary Congress,Beant Singh Vice President youth congress , Amandeep Singh , Puran chand Joint Secretary SAD , Former President of Border Welfare and Development Society Capt. Amandeep Singh (Gurdaspur), Retired Lieutenant Colonel Gurprakash Singh Virk (Mohali), Joint Secretary of Akali Dal Punjab and Senior Vice President of Punjab Rai Sikh (SC) Sudhar Sabha Puran Chand ( Fazilka) Former P.A. of Sri Akal Takht Sahib. And former Senior Vice President of Sikh Students Federation Iqbal Singh Tung, Chief Minister Channi’s cousin Jaswinder Singh Dhaliwal (Mohali), Former Vice President of Kisan Union Qadian Group District Moga and District Manager Kisan Wing Ranveer Singh Rania of Shiromani Kali Dal (Moga), Former Assembly candidate of Bahujan Samaj Party Chaudhary Arjun Singh Kansal (Mohali), Director Punjab Mandi Board and All India Jat 68 leaders of various political, social and other organizations including Rajinder Singh Badheri (Mohali), state president of Mahasabha Chandigarh have joined the BJP family along with their associates.
