Punjab Health Minister Chetan Singh Joramajra got so impressed with the student’s talent at the ongoing inter zonal youth festival, that forces him to stay for hours at the university campus .He came on a formal visit of ten-minute Punjabi University to inaugurate a session, but left the university after watching an entire play at the Guru Teg Bahadur Auditorium and then enjoyed a folk instrument performance at the Kala Bhavan.
He praised the art of young artists and said that although he himself did not get the opportunity to study much, but his government is determined to bring health and education within the reach of every Punjabi. On this occasion, he announced to give seven lakh rupees from his discretionary funds to install, repair and upgrade the sound system of Guru Teg Bahadur Auditorium, a one of the largest auditorium in any state universities of Punjab.
Vice Chancellor Prof. while welcoming Health Minister Chetan Singh Joramajra said that the Punjabi University has improved the student participation aspects in organizing the Youth and Folk Mela. Punjabi university students are excelling in studies, sports as well as in extra curricular activities . He further added that the initiatives taken by the state government in matters of education and health of the Punjab government can be promoted through the universities. He praised the youth welfare department and said that under the leadership of Dr Gagandeep Thapa, the entire team has set an example of organizational skills.
The third day of the Inter-Regional Youth and Folk Mela at Punjabi University saw a vigorous display of plays, folk songs and folk instruments. Dramatic skills in dramas and renditions of folk songs and folk instruments gave the audience a diverse experience. The magic of the performances was that the guest artists who came from their limited time to attend were completely engrossed and all the halls were continuously packed.

While thanking Chetan Singh Joramajra, Educational Multimedia Research Center Director Daljit Ami said that if the Punjab government takes the hand of an institution like Punjabi University, then we will do quality work diligently to fulfill this purpose.
