Appoint Chairman of Punjab State Commission for General Category-GCWF

A delegation of the General Category Welfare Federation (GCWF) submitted a memorandum to Gurmeet Singh Hayer Cabinet Minister Punjab and demanded that the state government should appoint a chairman and other committee members for the Punjab State Commission for General Category for its proper functioning at an early date.
The federation delegation comprised of Kuljit Singh Ratol President PSPCL/PSTCL unit Hargurmit Singh, Rajiv Sood and others.
Ratol informed that in order to resolve issues pertaining to the general category, Punjab State Commission for General Category was formed this year in February.
After the resignation of its first chairman ,the post has not been filled till date.
The delegation informed the minister that recently in direct recruitment to PSPCL and PSTCL 40 percent persons from outside the state were selected and even the reserve category employees against general category share posts were selected.The overall share of general category employees share stands reduced to half of its share posts. There is a need to check this imbalance.
Further the reservation benefits to creamy layer reserve category employees needs to be stopped as per supreme court decision of October 2006 and January 2018.
Federation welcomed the government decision of matic pass in Punjabi language for all class C and D posts.The Federation demands 75 percent posts should be reserved for the people living in Punjab.
