Farmers’ protest: Chandigarh police requests public to avoid travel on 11 barriers of Chandigarh; avoid unnecessary travel

In view of the call given by Sanyukat Kissan Morcha SKM) and Bhartiya Kissan Majdoor Coordination Center (BKMCC) to mobilize their activists and supporters to organize March to Delhi on 13.02.2024 in connection with their demands of law on MSP etc.

Precautionary arrangements are being made in UT Chandigarh on 13.02.2024 onwards for proper maintenance of law & order and smooth traffic. Neighboring states have also issued traffic advisories and general public may refer to the same for travel plans to/from Chandigarh. Hence, in view of the above general public is advised to avoid travel the following barriers of Chandigarh:-

  1. Mattour Barrier (dividing road Sector-51/52)
  2. Furniture Market Barrier on zero border line (Chandigarh–Mohali road Sector-53/54)
  3. Badheri Barrier (dividing road Sector-54/55)
  4. Dividing road Sector-55/56
  5. Mohali barrier (near PP Palsora)
  6. Faidan Barrier
  7. Zirakpur Barrier
  8. Mullanpur Barrier
  9. Naya Gaon Barrier
  10. Dhillon Barrier
  11. Housing Board Light Point Manimajra

Traffic advisory

Further, the traffic will be diverted from the above said barriers as per the ground situation. Chandigarh Traffic Police appeals to the general public to avoid unnecessary travel, cooperate with the police and follow the instructions and diversions given for their own convenience as per the situation. In case of any violation, the offenders shall be prosecuted with strict penal action under the relevant provisions of law issued in public interest.
