A voluntary blood donation camp was organized at Military Hospital Patiala under the aegis of Airawat Division as part of Army Day Celebration 2018.
Technical assistance for the same was provided by Blood Bank, Rajindra Hospital Patiala. The camp was inaugurated by Brig AS Rathore Dy GOC Airwat Divison and Madhvika Rathore, Vice President Black Elephant Family Welfare Organization. The camp was also graced by Brig RM Sharma Commandant Military Hospital Patiala and Kshama Sharma, Chairperson Family Welfare Oraganisation Military Hospital Patiala.
Dr BS Sidhu, Principal Govt Med Collage Patiala was also present on the occasion. There was active participation from Officers, Nursing officers and troops, who turned up in large numbers to donate blood. The Dy GOC expressed his appreciation to all donors for the noble act of donating blood to save lives.
83 units of blood were collected and the blood was handed over to Rajindra Hospital Patiala for preparation of components like FFP/Cryoprecipitate. Blood and Blood components are provided to Military Hospital Patiala by Blood Bank, Rajindra Hospital as and when required by troops, veterans and families.
