BAGA organized alumni meet at Govt Bikram College with aim to reconnect alumni of various academic sessions

An Alumni Meet ‘Home-Coming 23’ was organised at Government Bikram College of Commerce, Patiala by Bikram Alumni Global Association, Regd. (BAGA) under the guidance of College Principal Prof. (Dr.) Kusum Lata on 16.12.2023.
The purpose of the meet was to bring together former students of the institution and provide them with an opportunity to reconnect with old friends and make new connections and to help the college staff to recognise the contributions of their ex -students in the professional world
The program commenced with a warm welcome extended to all the alumni in attendance. The College Dhuni followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp signify the start of the program. These traditional rituals added a touch of solemnity and reverence to the occasion, creating an atmosphere of unity and shared values. President Mohinder Singh Maan (Retd DGP) in his presidential address thanked the College Alumni Association for arranging such programs that help them to relive their old college days and memories.
The College Principal took the opportunity to introduce Ray Gupta, an alumnus of the college from the batch of 1971-74 currently serving as the President and CEO of SUNRAY Group of Hotels in Ontario, Gupta shared his recorded massage for his alma mater and appreciated the progress made by college.
The oldest alumnus Madan Gopal Chandar of 1952 batch also shared his message and lauded the efforts of the college Principal to make this institution a pioneer one in the field of commerce. The Principal expressed her gratitude to Alumni for its consistent support to the college over the years. Dr. Vaneeta Rani, General Secretary conducted the stage and presented report highlighting the achievement of the College through a Slideshow. Various activities and performances were organised to entertain the guests adding excitement and liveliness to the event. Special financial contributions were made by Tarsem Bansal, Pawan Kumar Narula, MS Mann, JK Sehgal, Rajiv Goyal, Parvesh Krishan Singla and RK Sharma.
The meet HOME Coming-2023 was made a success by presence of eminent dignitaries Harbans Lal Bansal (Patron), CA Naresh Gupta (Patron), C.A. Rajiv Goyal (Vice President), CA Anil Arora (Finance Secretary), DR. RK Sharma, Dr. Neelamjit Kaur, Advocate Umesh Kumar Ghai, Rupinder Puri, Tarsem Bansal, Prof. Ram Kumar, Dr. Reetu Kapoor (Joint Secretary) Dr. Paramjit, Kaur and Dr. Rekha Rani.
BAGA organized alumni meet at Govt Bikram College with aim to reconnect alumni of various academic sessions. The ‘HOME COMING-2023’ undoubtedly marked a memorable occasion for the alumnus of Bikram College. The program ended on a happy note with a declaration by the college Principal that the second saturday of December every year will be celebrated as ‘Home -Coming’.It fostered a sense of belongingness among the Alumni but also encouraged their continued involvement in the institution’s future endeavours. All teaching and non-teaching staff was a part of the program.
