Baisakhi Celebrations at YPS, Patiala
Patiala-Festivals bring joy and happiness. The Baisakhi show was staged by the Prep. and the Junior Wing of YPS with zeal and fervour. An extraordinary talent was showcased by the students. The little children were dressed in traditional Punjabi attires. They performed Bhangra and Giddha to the tunes of melodious folk songs, expressing the joy of festival.
The students spoke about the establishment of the Khalsa Panth, the visits of farmers to Gurudwaras to thank the Lord for the bumper harvest, and also about the Baisakhi fair. Students also showed immense talent of poetry by reciting a Punjabi poem on significance of The Baisakhi Festival. The school observed enthusiasm and joy reverberating from every corner, with applause from spectators and happiness amongst participants.
The purpose behind the celebration was to apprise the children of their rich culture and heritage. Director of YPS Maj Gen Sanjiv Varma presided over the function and appreciated the efforts of the students.
