Deputy Commissioner Bathinda Diparva Lakra, on Wednesday, inaugurated the renovation project of toilet blocks of Government Schools and Panchayt Ghar of Joga Nand village, 8 km from here.
Deputy Commissioner Bathinda Diparva Lakra informed that State Bank of India (SBI) has offered to renovate the toilet blocks of Government Primary School, Government Middle School and Panchayat Ghar of Joga Nand village under its corporate-social responsibility programme.
Deputy Commissioner Bathinda also informed that the Bank will also renovate the Ambedkar Park in front of local Mini Secretariat at Bathinda and the permission for the same has given to the State bank of India officials. This will also be developed under CSR activity.
Deputy Commissioner Bathinda Diparva Lakra said that the State Bank of India will also construct a special block for drinking water purpose for the students of Joga Nand Government primary school. He added that the Punjab and Union governments were also committed to uplift the standard of education in government schools and various required schemes have been introduced in the education sector. DC Bathinda said that the district administration was also committed to provide the benefit of every welfare scheme to the eligible student of the district.
Meanwhile, General Manager State Bank of India Local Head Office Chandigarh Amit Kumar Tripathi said that the bank will also install dustbins in the Joga Nand village it will cost around five lakh including the renovation of toilet blocks. He added that they will also motivate the local residents to keep their surroundings neat and clean under the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
CJM-cum-secretary district legal services authority Bathinda Dr. Mandeep Mittal, State Bank of India Deputy General Manager Arun Bhatnagar; Pawan Goyal, Satinder Chhabra, Navtej Singh Dhingra, Madan Lal Chopra and SL Miglanil all Regional Managers; Chief Manager Jagmohan Bansal were also present on the occasion.
