Bathinda’s youngsters participate in Manali Trekking Camp

Bathinda-Under the patronage of Minister for Sports and Youth Services Punjab Rana Gurmeet Singh Sodhi, seven youngsters associated with the youth services department from Bathinda participated in the 10 days trekking camp held at Chandarkhani Pass in Manali (Himachal Pradesh).

The trekkers who participated in 10 days trekking camp include Balwinder Singh from village Baho Sivian, Nikhil Kumar from Goniana Mandi, Honeyjeet Singh from Deon, Jaideep Singh from Bathinda, Manish Kumar from Rampura and Abhinav Garg.

The youth of Bathinda bagged first prize in kit layout competitions, second place in high rope activity, second place in wall climbing and also bagged best trekker title at the Chandarkhani Bypass. More than 150 youngsters scaled 11800 feet high Chandarkhani bypass. Fighting against the challenges of heavy rainfall and steep wall climbing, the youngsters scaled the height. Buoyed over the successful completion of camp, the participants have decided to participate in more such events.

ADC D Sakshi Sawhney and assistant director youth services Kulwinder Singh congratulated the youngsters their achievement and said that the youth energy should be channelized towards hard work and such adventurous activities.
