The Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB) marked the 50th anniversary of the Beas Dam with a grand celebration held at Talwara.

Manoj Tripathi, Chairman of BBMB, was the Chief Guest at the event.  During the event BBMB also presented meritorious awards to its employees for their outstanding performance during the year 2023.  The event witnessed the participation of various senior officers and employees of BBMB, and their families.

A highlight of the celebration was the vibrant cultural program presented by the children of BBMB DAV Public School, Talwara.

Through their captivating performances, the children depicted the crucial role that BBMB and the Beas Dam have played in the development of North India. The program underscored the dam’s contributions to the Green, White, and Blue Revolutions, which have significantly enhanced agricultural productivity, dairy production, and water management across North India.

This water supports irrigation of more than 8% of India’s total cultivable area, playing a vital role in the agricultural output and food security of the nation. He also highlighted various renewable energy and Pumped Storage Projects being developed by BBMB to meet the growing energy demands of the country.  Tripathi’s speech resonated with pride and reaffirmed BBMB’s commitment to supporting India’s agricultural and power landscape.
