Before the beginning of the four lane tunnel, false portal removed in Shimla; no tunnel collapsed -NHAI

“An under-construction four lane tunnel in Shimla’s false portal was removed on Tuesday morning” claimed NHAI officer.
“On social media and other platform it is flashed that tunnel which was being built on the Kalka-Shimla highway near Chalaunthi near Sanjauli of Shimla is collapsed due to heavy rain or flash floods. But its the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) which is constructing the tunnel, removed the false portal, entry gate of the tunnel” said Achal Jindal , project director of NHAI, Shimla
“Earlier a rumor was spread that on Monday evening, a landslide occurred at the entry gate of the four-lane tunnel on the Kalka-Shimla highway near Chalaunthi . Workers had noticed falling stones and soil inside the tunnel. As a precaution, all the workers and machinery were evacuated before the collapse” added PD, NHAI
Whereas it is reported that debris had accumulated where the tunnel’s portal was being constructed. The process of reinforcing the portal was underway when a landslide triggered by heavy rains caused the collapse.
