    Now, newly appointed Additional Advocate General Mukesh Berry has also submitted his resignation letter to the Principal Secretary to Govt of Punjab (Home department), after the acceptance of AG Punjab APS Deol’s resignation.

    In a strongly worded resignation letter, Berry wrote ” I would request the government not to ridicule and diminish the status and dignity of the senior Advocates of this High Court”.

    On November 8,2021 Punjab govt had appointed Mukesh Chander Berry and Punjab’s deputy chief minister cum home minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa’s son-in-law Tarun Vir Singh Lehal as an additional advocate general (AAG) of the state.

    The government has engaged the services of Sumeet Mahajan as senior additional advocate general, Aadil Singh Boparai as additional advocate general, and Rehatbir Singh Maan as deputy advocate general.

      Punjab Government led by Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh is committed to the welfare of freedom fighters of Punjab and their legal heirs. Disclosing this here today Punjab Cabinet Minister Om Parkash Soni said that the Punjab Government has decided to increase the freedom fighter pension from Rs. 7500 / - per month to Rs. 9400/- per month from April 01, 2021 onwards. Soni said the freedom fighters and their Legal Heirs (Sons, daughters/ grandsons /grand-daughters) have been provided free bus travel facility in Roadways/ PRTC buses from December 7, 2020 onwards. Prior to this, the facility was only be given to the Freedom Fighters themselves/ their widows/their unmarried and unemployed daughters but now their all legal heirs including son, daughter, grandchildren have also get the benefits of this scheme.-photo courtesy-Internet
