Former chief minister of Punjab and erstwhile Patiala riyasat scion Capt Amarinder Singh’s brother-in-law or Co-brother Simranjit Singh Mann has raises questions over his joining hands with Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP).

Simranjit Singh Mann a former IPS officer and shiromani akali dal (Amritsar) supremo is a brother-in-law of former chief minister of Punjab and erstwhile Patiala riyasat scion Capt Amarinder Singh. Simranjit Singh Mann’s wife Geetinder kaur and Capt Amarinder Singh’s wife Preneet kaur are real sisters.

Capt Amarinder Singh had last week said he would soon launch his own party, and that he was hopeful of a seat adjustment with the BJP. Yesterday again he confirmed that he is aligning with BJP, splinter groups of SAD (Badal) to oust Congress from Punjab.

On this issue, Simranjit Singh Man in a press release said,” Capt Amarinder Singh was congress MP when the foundation stone of SYL was laid by for prime minister of India, Indra Gandhi at Kapuri in Patiala district. Later he joined hands with Parkash Singh Badal and joined shiromani akali dal. He left akali dal and remained independent. Later Capt Amarinder Singh remained a part of six members committee that has signed on a document “Amritsar Elannama” on May 1, 1994 at Shri Akal Takht (highest temporal seat of Sikhs). He once again deserted the cause of Punjab and joined congress.”

Now again he ditched the Punjabi’s. In his around five year’s term, he failed to take action against Parkash Singh Badal, Sukhbir Singh Badal, accused in sacrilege cases, bargari issue and other key issues of Punjab.

“Now Capt Amarinder Singh is joining hands with BJP, which is anti farmers, anti Punjab party. What will he gain by joining hands with BJP? Capt Amarinder singh has no stand.” said Simranjit Singh Mann.

When contacted Iqbal singh Tiwana, Chief Spokesman, Political & Media Advisor of SAD (Amritsar) he said, “Capt Amarinder Singh along with Simranjit Singh Mann, Retd Col. Jasmer Singh Bala, Bhai Manjit singh, Surjit Singh Barnala and Jagdev Singh Talwandi has signed on a document “Amritsar Elannama” in the presence of acting Jathedar of Akal Takht Sahib Prof Manjit Singh. All left the cause on which Amritsar Elannama was made, except party president Simranjit Singh Mann.”
