Central university of Punjab organized a webinar on preaching and philosophy of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji

To commemorate the 400th birth anniversary of ninth Sikh Guru Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, the Central University of Punjab organized a Webinar on the theme ‘Preaching and Philosophy of Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’.
On this occasion, Prof. Harmohinder Singh Bedi, an eminent scholar, acclaimed academician and Chancellor of the Central University of Himachal Pradesh delivered the Keynote address. He threw light on the sacrifice of Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji for the protection of religious freedom of Hindu from the Mughal. He shared that Guru Ji’s sacrifice should remember as the first attempt to fight for religious freedom & human rights in India. He added, that the ninth Sikh Guru wrote on a variety of subjects such as humanity, nature of God, body, mind, soul, death, deliverance etc., and his philosophy is registered in the form of 59 Shabads, 57 Shalok, and 15 Ragas mentioned in the sacred Sikh scripture ‘Shri Guru Granth Sahib’. Prof. Bedi said that all of us should assimilate the teachings of Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji in our lives, and adopt the message of humanity, affection, and oneness.
While concluding his keynote address, Prof. Hamohinder Bedi also praised the vision and mission of Prof. Raghavendra P. Tiwari, Vice-Chancellor, Central University of Punjab, and appreciated his efforts for successfully organizing this webinar on the Philosophy of ninth Sikh Guru Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji.
In his presidential address, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Raghavendra P. Tiwari said that the great Sikh Guru is known as ‘Hindt-di-Chadar’ (protector of humanity). He stated that youngsters should take inspiration from the divine personality of Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, and refrain from all social evils. He said that the life, philosophy and preaching of ninth Sikh Guru is relevant for all times & it will continue to guide our society to rise above the religious divide and live together peacefully. He conveyed his gratitude to the keynote speaker for making the audience acquainted with various aspects of the life of Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji and ensured him that CUPB would celebrate the 400th Prakash Parv of the great Sikh Guru with full enthusiasm and fervour.
