Climate Change and Water Security training program begins at GZSCCET, MRSPTU, Bathinda

The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) sponsored 6-day online Short Term Training Programme (STTP) on “Climate Change and Water Security” begins at Giani Zail Singh Campus College of Engineering & Technology, Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University, Bathinda on Monday.
More than 100 experts and faculty members from different institutions of the country will participate in an online mode programme organized by the Department of Civil Engineering, GZSCCCET, MRSPTU.
Prof. Dinesh Kumar Singh, Executive Director of AIIMS, Bathinda, was the Chief Guest for the inaugural ceremony. He talked about the importance of preserving the environment and water resources for the easy survival of mankind.
Dr. Ashok Pandey, Scientist at CSIR-IIT Research, Lucknow delivered a lecture on “Global Warming- Challenges in Energy and Environmental Sustainability” and Sant Balbir Singh Seechewal talked about different aspects of “Water Security”.
MRSPTU, Vice Chancellor, Prof. Buta Singh Sidhu, Registrar, Dr. Gurinder Pal Singh Brar and Campus Director GZSCCET & Dean (Academics) MRSPTU, Prof. (Dr.) Savina Bansal also graced the occasion and appreciated the organisers. They emphasized that it is the need of the hour to understand the severity of the Climate Change, Water Security and preserving the natural resources for our future generations.
Prof. (Dr.) Rakesh Kumar, Head of Civil Engineering Department delivered a welcome speech. Prof. (Dr.) Balwinder Singh Sidhu, Professor (Mechanical) & AICTE-MRSPTU MoU Coordinator talked about the effects of rapid industrialization on the environment. He also informed that in future MRSPTU is planning to conduct such kind of training programme for Non-teaching staff as well.
Dr. Gurprit Singh Bath, Associate Professor of Civil Engineering & Programme Co-coordinator delivered a vote of thanks to all the Guests, Chairman & Vice Chairman AICTE, Vice Chancellor MRSPTU, Director Faculty Development AICTE and the participants.
Prof. (Dr.) Manjeet Bansal (Coordinator), Er Sunita Kotwal & Er. Sukhdeep Singh (Co-coordinators) and Mr. Kuldeep Kumar (Member) played a key role in organizing such a valuable Training Programme on a very crucial topic.
During the week-long programme, Dr. Ashok Pandey – Scientist at CSIR-IIT Research, Lucknow, Padmashree Sant Balbir Singh Seechwal , Dr. Bhatti from GNDU Amritsar, Dr. V. K. Garg & Dr. Sunil Mittal from Central University of Punjab, Dr. S. K. Singh from Delhi Technological University, Mr. Anil Manocha – Executive Director, Ion Exchange Asia Pacific Pvt. Limited, Waterman Rajendra Singh, Dr. S C Jain – Former Dean & Chairman, Chemical Engineering, Panjab University, Chandigarh, Dr. R. P. Tiwari – Vice Chancellor, Central University of Punjab, Dr. Yogalakshmi K N & Dr. Prafulla Kumar Sahoo from Central University of Punjab, Dr. Sunil Kumar – CSIR-NEERI Nagpur, Pradeep Sangwan – Founder of Healing Himalayas, Dr. Manjeet Bansal from GZSCCET MRSPTU Bathinda and Dr. Seema Sharma from MRSPTU Bathinda would be the Resource Persons during this online STTP and would discuss various topics as per their expertise.
