CM Channi from 2 seats; Congress fielded weak candidate from Patiala; 8 candidates announced

Punjab chief minister charanjit singh will fight election on two seats- Chamkaur sahib (in Ropar) and Bhadaur (in Barnala), as per the remaining eight candidates list released by the congress high command. The party overlooked the claim of turncoat AAP sitting MLA from Bhadaur Pirmal Singh and fielded Charanjit Singh Channi . Pirmal Singh along with Sukhpal Khaira and Jagdev Singh Kmalu joined the Congress party, when Capt Amarinder Singh was the chief minister. He inducted them into the party fold.
The congress high command has fielded a weak, turncoat candidate Vishnu Sharma from Patiala. Capt Amarinder Singh is himself going to contest from Patiala, from his party Punjab Lok Congress ticket. Vishnu Sharma remained Congress mayor from Patiala and later joined SAD. Few days ago, he rejoined Congress.
The high command also overlook the claim of Capt Amarinder Singh close confidant Kewal dhillon from Barnala and gave party ticket to Manish Bansal, son of senior congress leader and former union minister Pawan Bansal.
From Jalalabad, party fielded former BSP leader and two-time former MP Mohan Singh Phalianwala who later joined the Congress in the presence of former Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh, during 2019 parliamentary elections.
From Nawanshahar the party gave ticket to Satbir Singh Saini Balichiki who left Capt Amarinder singh’s Punjab Lok Congress and joins congress.
