CM city glared up by anti govt hoardings; MC caught unawares

Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh home town Patiala glared up with anti govt hoardings today. The municipal corporation, who is the sole caretaker of hoardings was caught unawares.
Someone had put up anti- government hoardings in different parts of the city, particularly at some of the busiest places. These hoardings could be seen at Leela Bhawan chowk,located at a stone’s throw from deputy commissioner’s residence. Other hoardings were placed at newly built foot overbridge, near Gurudwara Dukhniwaran sahib, the entry point of Patiala city.
When contacted the Commissioner Municipal Corporation, Poonamdeep Kaur, was caught unaware about these anti govt hoardings. When questioned, whose area of concern was it to keep a check of hoardings, she replied it to be municipal corporation’s area of concern. On the coming up of these anti govt hoardings in the CM city, she said she would get it checked.
The hoardings pointing Punjab’s cause of concern. ‘It’s total Rs 3 lacs crore debt and annual interest on it is Rs 20 K Crores. Who took this loan, from where, when did they take such a huge loan? Punjab wants answer. To be continued…’
Who placed these hoardings, nobody knew the answer. Moreover, no mention of party, organization was mentioned on them.
CM city glared up by anti govt hoardings; MC caught unawares , on this issue , Gurpreet, a resident of Patiala said, “Actually Municipal Corporation has no check on hoardings. Anyone can place hoarding anywhere, at his will. If you are placing a political hoarding, no one from the MC dares to remove that. These hoardings are placed without giving any revenue to the corporation. It’s a huge nexus. Advertisement through hoarding is a major source of income for Municipal Corporation. But being a CM, local bodies and now PPCC President’s city, the royal city has become a defaced city. as every nook and corner is defaced by these political leaders and MC is a mute spectator. The MC must check on these illegal hoardings and take action against those who put illegal hoardings in the city. “
