CM endorses Mayor Patiala request on Canal based water supply; peripheral colonies included

In a bid to ensure holistic development of Patiala Heritage City, the Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh endorses the request made by Mayor Patiala Sanjeev Sharma Bittu, to include the surrounding colonies of the city under canal-based water supply.
Giving details, Mayor Sanjeev Sharma Bittu, said, “the chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh has agreed to his request, to cover all colonies in and around the city under canal-based water supply, for ensuring potable water to the residents. The meeting was held with the CM, in which he, as a care taker of the city requested the Chief Minister Capt Amrinder Singh, to include the peripheral colonies of the city, so that maximum residents can get the benefit of this important and prestigious project of the city. The Punjab government under the leadership of Capt Amrinder Singh, is investing Rs 503 crore for ensuring potable drinking water supply, to the residents of Royal City Patiala.”
Mayor Sanjeev Sharma said that,” by adding the outer colonies on Rajpura, Nabha, Bhadson, Sirhind, Devigarh, Sangrur, Sanour, Main, Chaura roads, the residents would get the potable drinking water. The long pending demand, problem of the residents would be solved, due to the visionary decision taken by our Chief Minister.”
He further elaborated that Patiala city would get 35 cusec waters from Bhakhra Main Line (BML) on Nabha Road.
Mayor Sanjeev Sharma further added that the “Chief Minister Capt Amrinder Singh has directed the CEO Punjab Municipal Infrastructure Development Company (PMIDC) and DC Patiala to look into the feasibility, financial aspect of the project, giving potable water to the peripheral areas of the city.”
CM endorses Mayor Patiala request on Canal based water supply; peripheral colonies included. Now, “the department who will do the survey, has approached the Municipal Corporation Patiala, for data, information about the peripheral colonies” added Mayor Sanjeev Sharma.
