CM to dedicate renovated emergency wing of the Govt Rajindra Hospital, Patiala to people

In a major boost to the health services, Punjab chief minister Bhagwant Mann is going to inaugurate and dedicate the newly renovated Emergency wing of the Govt Rajindra Hospital, Patiala, today afternoon.

As per available information, now the Govt Rajindra Hospital, Patiala emergency wing will be a 100 bedded wing. Now, 17 beds are added, kept for intensive care unit (ICU). Now, the emergency will have a Triage, high dependency unit (HDU).

Intensive care units (ICU) and high dependency units (HDU) are specialist wards providing intensive care (treatment and monitoring) for people who are in a critically ill or unstable condition.

All these facilities will be available at the ground and first floor of the existing emergency building of the Govt Rajindra Hospital.

A new helpdesk has been established near the entrance of the emergency wing on the ground floor where the patients will be looked after by the doctors and nurses at the very first step. The patient will be sent to the respective ward after the initial checking. The waiting area for the relatives of the patients has been moved outside.

About Govt Rajindra Hospital, Patiala

Famous Rajindra hospital was built in 1954. It is linked with The Government Medical College. Rajindra Hospital is a major hospital in Punjab. Hospital offers so many services to patients. It has a specialized staff for Surgery, Ultrasonography, Obstetrics, Radiotherapy and Plastic Surgery. Mata Kaushalaya Devi Hospital which was formed in 1890 as a Lady Dufferin Hospital provides support to Rajindra Hospital.

In 1954, Rajindra Hospital has the capacity of 900 beds. The hospital is fully furnished. It has latest equipments and devices which helps in better treatment of the patients. Hospital has two spacious lecture theaters. Audio Visual aids and Epidiascopes projections are present in hospital.
