Earlier Congress and Aam Aadmi party were talking of alliance in these seven Lok sabha seats. Rahul Gandhi led congress party wanted a tie up only in Delhi while the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) wanted the alliance to be forged in Haryana as well, as AAP has a govt in Delhi. This announcement caps months of speculation over the party’s possible alliance with the Aam Aadmi Party. The two were in talks for weeks but at the last minute the talks failed over AAP’s demand for alliance outside Delhi.

The BJP had already announced its four candidates for Delhi . The party retained all its sitting MPs with Harsh Vardhan contesting from Chandni Chowk, Manoj Tiwari from North East Delhi, Ramesh Bidhuri from South Delhi and Pravesh Verma from West Delhi.
