Coronavirus suspected Mandigobindgarh resident admitted himself to Rajindra hospital

38 years old resident of Mandigobindgarh in Fatehgarh sahib district was admitted to the Government Rajindra hospital in Patiala .
As per civil surgeon of Fatehgarh sahib Dr Naresh Aggarwal “a resident of Mandigobindgarh shows symptoms of coronavirus disease. When he read the news, symptoms of coronavirus in the newspapers, he directly went to Government Rajindra Hospital at Patiala and got himself admitted in the hospital, as he has the similar symptoms.”
The hospital authorities acted immediately and have already put him under observation in the hospital and an isolation ward was set up for him.

Government medical college Patiala Superintendent Dr Paras Pandav said “We came to know that he traveled to China, Thailand and Singapore in January. We admitted him in the isolation ward of the hospital, especially made for the coronavirus suspected patients .We have collected the blood samples and sent these for testing at National Institute of Virology (NIV), Pune, for the confirmation about the disease” he said.
He further informed that “We have asked the health department officials to sanitise the patient’s surroundings to ensure that no other person gets infected by the suspected virus. Since high fever is one of the key symptoms, we are taking every precautionary measure. We have restricted the entry of outsiders to the ward, except doctors and paramedical staff,” Dr Pandav added.
