Corruption is intolerable; vigilance booked two ASI’s -Sidhu

Punjab vigilance bureau Patiala range today arrested ASI Manohar Singh posted at police station city 2, Barnala.
Mandeep Singh Sidhu, SSP Vigilance Patiala range, divulging the detail said that “ASI Manohar Singh and ASI Hakam Singh posted at police station city 2, Barnala demanded a bribe of Rs. 50000/- from the complainant Gurjeet Singh R/o Barnala, to release his weapon, tractor and to help him in a compliant, which was pending against him. The matter was settled in Rs 25000 /-. Later the complainant Gurjeet Singh approached vigilance bureau. Today vigilance party laid a trap and caught red handed ASI Manohar Singh while accepting bribe of Rs 15000/-. Efforts are on to arrest the second accused ASI Hakam Singh.”
Sidhu further informed that a FIR No.19 dt. 21 -10 -2020 u/s 7 PC Act and 120-B IPC police station, vigilance bureau Patiala Range Patiala is registered on the statement of Gurjeet Singh R/o Barnala against ASI Manohar Singh and ASI Hakam Singh PS City 2 Barnala.
