Crackdown against illegal minning-Six stone crushers of Khera Kalmot sealed

The Punjab government has launched a crackdown on illegal mining in which the mining department has sealed six stone crushers at village Khera Kalmot area near Nangal city of Rupnagar district
Disclosing this here on Thursday Mining Officer Vipan Kamboj said that the Punjab government had suspended the license of the mining contractor in Rupnagar district due to non-payment of installment by the contractor but despite this th stone crushers were operating illegally by collecting stones.
The mining officer said that registration of Mahavir Stone Crusher, Gill Stone Crusher, Kalgidhar Stone Crusher, Guru Stone Crusher, New Sutlej Stone Crusher and Gurinder Doaba Stone Crusher has been canceled and 6 cstone crushers have been permanently sealed.
Vipan Kamboj said that police have been informed about these illegal stone crushers so that these can be monitored continuously.
Crackdown against illegal minning-Six stone crushers of Khera Kalmot sealed. On this occasion Deputy Commissioner Rupnagar Dr. Preeti Yadav said that illegal mining would not be allowed at any level in Rupnagar district and no one involved in it would be spared.
She also informed that the district administration has also launching a special campaign against the overloaded vehicles for which all the transporters were urged to abide by the traffic rules.
Punjab Mines and Geology Minister Harjot Singh Bains said that during the regimes of previous governments, many complaints were raised against the defaulters and it was said that son-in-law of Former Vidhan Sabha speaker Rana KP was involved in the malpractice but clean chits were been given and till date no stern action was taken.
Bains said that the message of CM Bhagwant Mann led Punjab Government is loud and clear against illegal mining and it will not be tolerated at any cost at any location across the state. He said that apart from ensuring strict action against persons involved in illegal mining, the tainted officers will also not be spared.
