Daler Mehndi gets bail after convicted by Patiala Court
Daler Mehndi, a renowned Punjabi pop singer who had landed in trouble following allegations of human trafficking and running an illegal immigration scandal which made headlines in 2003, has been convicted for 2 years and taken into custody by the Patiala court.Later, as per news agency ANI Daler Mehandi gets bail.
It was alleged that Daler Mehandi ,while on a business trip to the USA in the company of Bollywood actress Karisma Kapoor had “dropped off” three girls from Gujarat, at USA. Also it was alleged that earlier they had already three boys to USA while on a troupe with other bollywood personalities .
At that time Patiala police registered a case against Daler Mehandi and his look like brother Shamsher Mehandi (who is no more), on a complaint filed by one Bakshish Singh. After Bakshish Singh complaint around 3 dozen more complaints came up leveling charges of fraud against the two brothers.It was alleged by complainent that they had taken the passage money from them, to help them to migrate to USA’ illegally.
At that time Patiala police had even raided the offices of Daler Mehndi at Delhi and seized increment documents,files which prooved helpful in registering the case. Later Daler Mehandi got the bail in this case.
Later in 2006, Patiala Police even filed two discharge petitions stating Daler Mehndi to be innocent. But at that time the court had upheld the same and ordered that he must be prosecuted as there was “sufficient evidence against him on the judicial file and scope for further investigation”.
After the pronouncement of the judgement, Daler Mehandi said that they will appeal in the High Court as we were innocent and Police fabricated a false case against us.
