Scientific temperaments were on high spirits at DAV Patiala as an Inter school science exhibition ‘Quest for Science 2017 was organized with Punjab Academy of Sciences(ISCA).
124 participants from 21 CBSE schools participated and demonstrated their practical and experimental skills.
The exhibition started with lightening of lamp of knowledge with enchanting of Vedic mantras. Chief guest Prof. Hem Raj Goyal (State, National and International Awardee Scientist), Mr. S. S Pahil (Convener of ISCA Patiala), Ms. Aruna Bhatia (Convener) and Principal S.R Prabhakar inaugurated the exhibition. Chief guest Prof. Hem Raj Goyal motivated the participants and said that students who respect their teachers always reach the high horizon of success.
Students showcased their skills through various working and static models under the guidance of their mentors on Digital technique in daily life, E- waste management, Plastic boon or bane, Science in villages and they were adjudged by esteemed judges Prof. K. C Goyal, Prof. Dalbir Kaur , Prof. Raj Goyal ( Punjabi University) Prof. Rajesh Khanna, Prof. Amjad Ali Khan , Prof. Ashish Singla ( Thapar University) .
Principal S.R Prabhakar appreciated the efforts made by Ms. Megha Narang , Science faculty and all the participants and said that the Science has become an essential part of life. As science of today is technology of tomorrow and events like this motivate the young talent and budding scientists who are the reservoir of knowledge and imagination to work and use their skills for human welfare.
In the end ‘ Vote of Thanks’ was presented by Neera Khurana ( HOD Science Dept) of DAV Patiala who organised Quest for Science 2017 and the efforts of one and all to make this mega event a success were applauded.
