DC Flags off Muktsar Marathon 2018 Promo Run
Promo run for Vera Muktsar Marathon 2018 was held at the Multipurpose Stadium Bathinda. Deputy Commissioner Bathinda Diprava Lakra flagged off rally.
Speaking at the event Lakra stated that the marathon started from Multipurpose Sports Stadium and covered areas of Hanuman Chowk, Goniana Road, Namdev Nagar, 40 feet road and culminated back at the stadium after covering a distance of 3 kms. DC Diprava Lakra, SSP Naveen Singla and ADC (D) Sakshi Sawhney released T shirt promoting the event.
Athlete Sidharth Chaudhary had especially come from Mumbai to be a part of the promo run. He said that the Vera Muktsar marathon 2018 was being organized on March 18 at Gidderbaha district Sri Muktsar Sahib. He added that such event not only motivate people to be more conscious towards health but also help in organizing and promoting similar events. He added that for the marathon children above 12 years of age can participate in 5kms run, in 10 kms run people above 15 years can participate and in 21 kms run people abive 21 years can participate. To participate in the event, it is mandatory for one to get registered at registration fees of Rs 300. The registration form can be collected and submitted to District Sports Officer Bathinda. People participating in marathon will have to wear the event T shirt for getting entry.
Students from Government Rajindra College, DAV College, Malwa College, Maharaja Ranjit Singh Technical Uiversity, Polytechic College, school teachers and students participated in the promo run.
