GNDU formulated sanitizer as per the standard guidelines at low cost

Today, when Corona virus (COVID-19) is spreading, people become more conscious about personal hygiene and sanitization. This led to huge demand of sanitizers in the market, which are not easily available now days. Those available are being sold at higher price than MRP. Also, the quality of the non-branded sanitizers available in market seems to be of sub-standard.
Keeping this in view, the Research team of Guru Nanak Dev University led by Dr. Tejwant Singh Kang from Department of Chemistry has formulated a sanitizer as per the standard guidelines with slight sanitizer comprises of ethanol, IPA, hydrogen peroxide, distilled water as a medium, natural fragrance, preservative and other antimicrobial agents. Initially, 10 liters of sanitizer has been prepared at first instance followed by more 30 liters.
The prepared sanitizer has been distributed to main branches, offices, security check posts, guest house and other members of the University free of cost as instructed by Vice Chancellor Dr. Jaspal Singh Sandhu. Even he instructed to keep sanitizing the hands of the visitors (if any) who visited University to meet university residents or others. He also appreciated the efforts made by the team is a positive step for the sanitization and health of University fraternity.
