DC requested Punjab government to call Army, Helicopter to rescue stranded villagers

Due to rise in water level in Bhakra dam, the authorities have released water. The excess water released has started playing havoc in few hours after it was released from the dam. Owning to a flood-like situation, the district administration of Ropar sought army help to deal with the situation.
Ropar deputy commissioner Dr Preeti Yadav has requested the state government to take army’s help and call helicopter to rescue the stranded residents , villagers in the floods.
As per an official ” As per an official ” the govt has taken up the matter with the defence ministry and waiting for their reply.”
