Delegation of academicians from Punjab based government universities visits Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law

Upon the initiative of Governor of Punjab, Gulab Chand Kataria, the following Heads and their nominees visited Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab, Patiala on 17 September 2025 to follow up inspection.

The Vice-Chancellor welcomed all the members on behalf of the University. He presented bouquet to all the dignitaries. Prof. Kamaljit, Dean Research opened the discussion. She highlighted the important contributions and achievements of the university. She told that university organized International Conference on theme of Navigating the Future: Ethics, Regulations, and Sustainability in the Age of Artificial Intelligence on February 22, 2025. In this conference Justice Surya Kant, Judge, Supreme Court of India, New Delhi, and The Visitor, The Rajiv Gandhi National Law of University, Punjab was Chief Guest. Justice Sheel Nagu, Chief Justice of Punjab and Haryana High Court & Chancellor, Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab was guest of the conference. Justice Arun Palli, Judge, Punjab and Haryana High Court, Chandigarh and many other delegates from ten foreign countries and other states of the India participated and presented paper.
The university organized 6th Convocation Program on February 15, 2025. Justice Surya Kant, Judge, Supreme Court of India, New Delhi, and The Visitor, The Rajiv Gandhi National Law of University, Punjab was Chief Guest. Justice Sheel Nagu, Chief Justice of Punjab and Haryana High Court & Chancellor, Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab was guest in the convocation. In this program degrees were conferred to the B.A.LL.B., LL.M. and Ph.D. students.
National Conference on the theme ‘Seventy-Five Years of the Constitution of India’ was organized on April 19, 2025. In this Conference Justice Rajesh Bindal, Judge, Supreme Court of India, New Delhi was Chief Guest. Justice Lisa Gill, Judge, High Court of Punjab & Haryana, Chandigarh and Justice Deepak Sibal, Judge, Punjab and Haryana High Court, Chandigarh were guest in this conference. Delegates from 15 states participated and presented paper.
National Conference was organized on the theme ‘Seventy-Five Years of the Supreme Court of India’ on April 26-27, 2025. In this conference Justice Pankaj Mithal, Judge, Supreme Court of India and Justice A.G. Masih, Judge, the Supreme Court, New Delhi and Justice Sheel Nagu, Chief Justice of Punjab and Haryana High Court & Chancellor, Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab were guest of the conference. In this conference delegates from all over the country participated and presented the paper.
International Conference was held on the Theme ‘Seventy-Five Years of the Constitution of India: A Comparison with Major Constitution of the World’ on August 30-31, 2025. In this conference Justice Dipankar Datta, Judge, Supreme Court of India, New Delhi; Justice Pankaj Mithal, Judge, Supreme Court of India; Justice Sheel Nagu, Chief Justice of Punjab and Haryana High Court & Chancellor, Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab; Justice Balkrishna Dhakal, Judge, Supreme Court of Nepal and Justice Mohan T. Pieris, Former Chief Justice of Colombo, Sri Lanka. In this conference delegates from 25 countries participated and presented the paper. The other programs regarding Legal Aid, Academic Programmes and other activities were highlighted.
A detail information was given regarding all research centres feedback form about Teacher’s evaluation were filled by the students.
The delegates were informed about the gender neutral washrooms and gender neutral spaces in the university. A detail information regarding library was given.
The exam branch has initiated SANAD portal for attestation and Postal of documents including APAAR ID’s.
The Panellists were informed about the activities of RGNUL Institute for Competitive Examinations. They have initiated program called VAANI. VAANI is a program where students taught three languages like Hindi, English and Punjabi and another program was SANKALP which is a compendium is a collection of syllabus for the competitive exams. They also facilitated five successful judicial aspirants.
The members gave important suggestions to improve the Academic environment of the University. In this program Prof. (Dr.) Jai Shankar Singh, Vice-Chancellor, RGNUL; Dr. Ivneet Walia , Registrar, RGNUL, Prof. Sharanjit, Prof. Kamaljit, Dr. Geetika Walia, Dr. Manoj Sharma, Dr. Shruti Goyal, Dr. Tanya Mander, Dr. Sangeeta Taak, and Dr. Wazida Rahman.
