Devotional commencement of three days of Shaheedi Sabha starts at Mata Gujri College

Devotional ceremonies dedicated to the martyrdom of Sahibzadas Baba Zorawar Singh, Baba Fateh Singh Ji, and Mata Gujri Ji, were started today at Mata Gujri College, Fatehgarh Sahib, where senior Akali leader and the additional secretary of the college governing body, Jagdeep Singh Cheema reviewed the service activities and arrangements being conducted by the college. It is worth mentioning that about 500 volunteer students of the college are actively participating in the service activities of the Shaheedi Sabha.
Honorary Secretary of the College Jagdeep Singh Cheema while throwing light on various aspects of Sikh history said that the main purpose of these events is to make the young generation aware of their rich heritage and be guided by the great martyrdoms that took place on the holy land of Fatehgarh Sahib.
Director Principal Dr. Kashmir Singh said that such a great sacrifice is not seen anywhere in the history of the world, so it is our duty to teach our children the Sikh history, Sikh principles and Sikh ideology. He informed that NCC and NSS unit, Youth Red Cross Unit, Mata Gujri Study Circle, Journalism Department, teachers of various committees and students are actively participating in the service activities.
On this occasion, blood donation camp was organized by the NSS unit in which about 200 units of blood were donated on the first day and a free first aid camp was organized for the health facilities of the Sangat.
A special issue of the lab journal ‘Fateh’ dedicated to the supreme sacrifice was published by the Journalism and Mass Communication department was also released. Fine arts department of the college also organized the ‘Rang-e-Ruhaniyat’ art exhibition and ‘Dry flower’ exhibition under the floriculture project of agriculture department.
Apart from this, NCC unit students are also facilitating the movement of the sangat along with the traffic police. With the support of Mata Gujri Ji Welfare Society (Reg.) Sri Anandpur Sahib, college has made proper arrangements for the accommodation of about 5000 pilgrims. Apart from this, free bus service and tea langar have also been arranged for the passengers.
