DGP Prisons murdered in Jammu

Director General of Police, Prisons department, Hemant Kumar Lohia was found murdered under suspicious circumstances at his friend’s residence in Jammu with police suspecting his domestic help as the culprit, a senior police officer said.
Police has started an investigation from all angles, including murder. His servant is being suspected to have murdered him.
Director General of Police Dilbag Singh described it as an “extremely unfortunate” incident and said a manhunt had been launched to nab his domestic help identified as Jasir, who is absconding.
Hemant Kumar Lohia was staying at his friend’s house along with his own family as his own house was under renovation. As per reports, the suspect had even attempted to set ablaze the body of 57-year-old Lohia. His friend’s family and his wife was sitting outside in the house, when they saw the fire in the room, they rushed towards that room and found him murdered.
Lohia who was promoted and appointed as Director General of prisons in the Union Territory in August.
