Directorate of Factories in support with Vedanta’s TSPL organizes industrial safety training

Talwandi Sabo Power Limited (TSPL), the largest thermal power plant in Punjab supported Directorate of Factories, Punjab for organizing a two-day Industrial Safety training on the 25th and 26th of February, under the guidance of Parveen Kumar Thind, Labor Commissioner–cum- Director of Factories, Punjab & Punjab Industrial Safety Council, Mohali.
The two-day training was inaugurated by Vishal Singla, Deputy Director of Factories accompanied by senior leaders from TSPL and its business partner STEAG. The training emphasized upon the need to adopt safety measures pertaining to Industrial Hygiene, First Aid Basics, Life & Country development, Safety Management Systems, Dust Hazards & Controls, General Safety (Machine Guarding). The sessions were highly interactive, making use of audio-visual modes, including safety videos and detailed analysis of case studies, including that of Vizag gas leak incident.

Stressing upon the need for safety culture in industries, Factory Manager TSPL said, “At Vedanta TSPL, we strongly believe and foster a safety-first culture. Safety is of paramount importance and is the collective responsibility of the management as well as employees. Regular industrial safety trainings are a strong step towards inculcating safety culture amongst the employees, helping create safe and conducive work environment for all.”

This will go a long way in establishing safety as a culture and way of life.”
The two-day training program culminated with certificate distribution to all the participants by Vishal Singla, Deputy Director of Factories – Bathinda, Sahil Goyal, Deputy Director of Factories – Sangrur and Sanjeev, Executive Officer of Punjab Industrial Safety Council Mohali.
