The 76th annual IMA Punjab State conference, PIMACON 2023 , was held at Govt Medical College PATIALA on 19 , 20 and 21st January 2024 under the leadership of IMA Punjab President, Dr Bhagwant Singh.
Doctors of various specialists across the state attended this conference, and almost 1800 delegates registered for this. The pre-conference workshop on Basic Life Support was done and taught the life saving management.
The two day conference was full of academic sessions of all specialist and was well organised by the local IMA Patiala 2023 team with President Dr Chander Mohini, secretary Dr Nidhi Bansal , treasurer Dr Anu Garg and the whole IMA women team.
The inauguration function was presided over by the Chief Guest Health and Family Welfare & Medical Education Minister Punjab Dr Balbir Singh ji, where he appreciated the work done by IMA PUNJAB in the last year especially during the floods in Punjab.
He appreciated the teaching curriculum of Medical College and also briefed about the upcoming Farishtey Scheme where he asked for the IMA Punjab inputs. The event was also attended by Director Health Services Dr Adarshpal kaur, Director Health (Family Welfare) Dr. Hitinder Kaur, Chairman Board of Management BFUHS , Dr GS Wander, President PMC, Dr C S Pruthi , Dr Jatinder Kansal Deputy Director Health, Civil surgeon Patiala, Dr Raminder kaur and various other dignitaries and Past Presidents of Punjab IMA. Dr Harsimran Singh, secretary IMA PUNJAB briefed the achievements and work done in the last year.
The IMA Punjab President Dr Bhagwant Singh welcomed all delegates and thanked the IMA members.
The new team for IMA Punjab 2024 under leadership of Dr Sunil Katayal from Ludhiana as President, Dr BS Johal as secretary from Jalandhar and Finance secretary Dr R S Bal. Dr Jatinder Kansal, past President IMA Punjab, who has been the guiding force for the IMA congratulated the new team and emphasized the brotherhood of IMA.
The academic sessions in the event was taken care by Vice Principal GMCH Dr RPS Sibia and Professor and head pulmonary medicine GMCH Dr Vishal Chopra and Observer from PMC was Dr Rakesh Arora.
