Dog menace at Punjabi University; child fatally attacked by pack of dogs

In a bizarre incident, a pack of stray dogs attacked the young son aged 5-6 years of Dr. Rajwinder Singh, a faculty member of the Punjabi University, Patiala residing in the university campus.
As per reports, in an early morning weird incident the young son of Punjabi university teaching faculty Dr. Rajwinder Singh was attacked by stray dogs while he was sitting at his home.
As per available information a pack of stray dogs near their residences at 6:30 am attacked Kabir, son of Dr Rajwinder Singh who was sitting at his home.
After the sudden attack by canines on teen Kabir, the father Dr Rajwinder singh and his mother Dr Jasvir Kaur immediately rushed to save their child and after much struggle they able to save their son from the clutches of stray dogs.
They immediately took Kabir to Govt Rajindra Hospital for treatment.
The incident has sent a shock wave in the campus where the faculty, staff is residing.
The residents are condemning the incident. A faculty member said “ today’s incident is both shocking and unacceptable. I unequivocally condemn the negligence that allowed such a threat to persist on campus. Those who express compassion for stray dogs must also shoulder the responsibility for their proper care and control, anything less is hypocrisy. While every life is precious, human life is non-negotiable. I sincerely pray for the child’s speedy recovery and a long, healthy life”.
“The stray dog menace at Punjabi University has reached a critical level, endangering the safety of students, staff, visitors, and campus residents. The incident that happened today involving a resident’s family is a stark reminder that urgent action is required” said another resident of the campus.
“We urge the University Administration and District Authorities to act immediately and implement humane, legal, and effective solutions in collaboration with animal welfare organizations” said another faculty member
