Dr Gurnam Singh is Dean Faculty of Arts and Culture Pbi Uni
Patiala– The Vice-Chancellor of Punjabi University, Prof. B.S. Ghuman has appointed Dr. Gurnam Singh, Head, department of GurmatSangeet and GurmatSangeet Chair as Dean, Faculty of Arts and Culture for a period of two years. This is the second time that Dr. Gurnam Singh has been given this responsibility. The Faculty comprises departments of Theatre and Television, Music, Fine Arts, Dance and Gurmat Sangeet.
A noted scholar and a distinguished performer, Dr Gurnam Singh has earlier held the positions of Dean, Academic Affairs and Dean, Research, even as he is presently holding the position of Dean, Alumni of the University. Among those, who greeted Dr Singh on his appointment included former deans of the faculty and HoDs of Theatre and Television, Dr Sunita Dhir and Dr Gurcharan Singh and the present head, Dr Jaspal Kaur, former HoD of Dance, Dr Daisy Walia, former dean and HoD of Music, Dr Yashpal Sharma, Dr Ambalica Sood Jacob, Dr Simmi and Dr Kavita Singh.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Gurnam Singh said that the Punjabi University’s faculty of Arts and Culture was unique in the country in ways more than one. He will continue to make consistent efforts for furthering the cause of the faculty in future too, he said.
