Dr Harsh Charitable trust-a hope for orphan, destitute girls; 431 poor needy girls taking monetary benefits for education

431 poor needy girls of Punjab were taking monetary benefits for education in private schools. Dr Harsh Charitable Trust is helping these girls since 2008.
In an annual function held at the office of the trust in Patiala, today 4 more girls were added in the trust from Gurdaspur . Two girls from Malerkotla were added who’s both parents had committed suicide. The girl students have arrived the trust’s head office to receive their cheques for school, college, university fees.
50 girls from this trust have completed education and are now earning. Fifteen girls are continuing their studies in universities and colleges of Punjab. Two girls have cleared exam and are now studying in Canada. One girl is pursuing education in USA.
President of this trust Dr Harshindar Kaur and general secretary Dr Gurpal Singh thanked all NRIs for their monetary help in continuing this trust as almost Rs 3.5 lakh per month is being distributed every month through cheques issued in the name of principal of school where these girls are studying. Both doctors are working as professors in government medical college Patiala
Dr Harshindar Kaur, President of the trust told that the aim of the trust is to make poor girls alive to their rights by opening up educational avenues for them, to make them economically independent. Dr Harshindar kaur said that if any poor girl of Punjab who has lost her father and the family is economically challenged, they can seek help from Dr Harsh Charitable Trust and they can be helped to get quality education in private schools till matriculation.
