Dr Kawaljeet is Addl Controller (Exam) of Pbi University
Patiala-The Punjabi University’s Vice-Chancellor, Dr. B.S. Ghuman has appointed Dr Kawaljeet Singh, Director, University’s Computer Centre, as Additional Controller of Examinations. The step has been taken to streamline the functioning of the examination branch of the University by giving it advanced technological orientation, given Dr Kawaljeet’s own background and experience. He will be delegated duties and powers by the Controller, Examinations and Dean, Academic Affairs, Dr G.S. Batra from time to time. The idea, among other things, is to facilitate the timely declaration of results, remove discrepancies and give best services to a large number of students of the University, its affiliated colleges, neighbourhood campuses, regional centres and the constituent colleges.
Earlier, the Vice-Chancellor had assigned Dr Kawaljeet and his team the task to train the entire administrative staff of the University, especially that of the examination branch, during a five-day workshop for University’s Deputy and Assistant Registrars, to begin with, to adapt themselves to using the new computer technology-based skills. This “Computer Training Workshop”, under the capacity building programme, is being conducted by the Staff Training and Development Cell(STDC) in coordination with the University’s Computer Centre. The remaining staff too will be trained to make themselves familiar with the newer and much speedier ways of educational administration to the satisfaction of our target audiences, Dr Ghuman said.
