Drones to ease surveillance and monitoring : CM

The State Government intends to use drone technology for monitoring and carrying payloads besides supervising of various schemes under implementation, traffic management, rescue of stranded trekkers, monitor forest and wild life and surveillance of illegal mining etc. This was stated by the Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu late evening yesterday.

He said that there was a dire need to seriously consider how the services of various departments of the government can be expedited by adding modern technology. This will also benefit the people at large as the technology will also play a pivotal role in the health and other sectors. Drones can also be used to spread micronutrients in agriculture sector.

This will not only save time but will also ensure the anticipated results. The Chief Minister said that the world at large has entered in an era of advanced technology and it was the need of the hour that the government adopts, and practice the modern technology for rapid growth and efficiency in all the sectors. The state government is committed to provide better services to the people of the state by adding new technology in future, he said.

Chief Parliamentary Secretaries, Sanjay Awasthi and Ashish Butail, MLA, Kewal Singh Pathania, Political Advisor to Chief Minister, Sunil Sharma, Principal Advisor IT and Innovation to Chief Minister, Gokul Butail, OSD, Gopal Sharma, Secretary IT, Dr. Abhishek Jain, Director Information and Public Relations Department, Kiran Bhadana, IPS Officer, Ilma Afroz and other officers were present amongst others.
