Dry Days -Ban on sale, drinking, storing, serving of any kind of liquor from 17-19 May

District Magistrate Barnala Tej Partap Singh Phoolka declared”all liquor shops, clubs, bars and other such establishments will remain closed in the district from Friday, May 17, evening to 6 pm on Sunday,May, 19 and on May 23 the date of counting. The district magistrate decaled “dry days” in Barnala district.
Punjab polls are slated for May, 19. According to an order issued by the district magistrate, “In pursuance of the provision of Rule 54 of the Punjab Excise Act 1914, it is hereby ordered that “Dry Days” shall be observed as under on account of general election to Lok Sabha 2019.
As per the orders, “there will be complete ban of sale, drinking, storing, serving of any kind of liquor on these days. No Hotel, Restaurant, Club, Beer bar or any other authorized place will serve liquor to anyone. Those who found flouting rules, strict action will be taken against him, as per the law.”
Phoolka said Assistant Excise and taxation Commissioner (AETC), Barnala will implement the ban orders.
