The President of  Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) today strongly condemned the recent racial assault on two Sikh elders in Wolverhampton, in UK.

While expressing deep anguish, Harmeet Singh Kalka stated that it is disturbing that during the attack, the turban of one of the Sikh elders was forcibly removed — an act that is not only a grave insult to Sikh identity but also a direct violation of the sanctity and dignity associated with the Sikh faith.

He said that such incidents amount to a desecration of the sentiments of the entire Sikh community worldwide.

Kalka emphasized that the Sikh diaspora has earned global recognition for its integrity, hard work, and significant contributions across different spheres of life. It is therefore deeply regrettable that, despite this legacy, Sikhs continue to face violence driven by racial prejudice. He asserted that such incidents are shameful for any civilized and progressive society.

He has urged the local administration and law enforcement authorities in the United Kingdom to take strict and exemplary action against the perpetrators, ensuring that such hateful incidents are not repeated in the future.

Highlighting the broader implications, Harmeet Singh Kalka remarked that racially motivated attacks inject venomous hatred into society, weaken social harmony, and undermine international trust and community relations. He affirmed that the Sikh community will continue to raise its voice fearlessly against such acts of injustice and intolerance.
