Education department of World University organised drive of career exhibitions

Department of Education, Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University, Fatehgarh Sahib organized a week long Guidance and Counselling Exhibition for senior secondary school students of district Fatehgarh Sahib. While congratulating the department for their efforts Vice chancellor Dr. Pritpal Singh said that with explosion of academic and career opportunities in the present time, students often find themselves at the crossroads of making a better and appropriate career choice.
He added that the exhibition drive was organized with the objectives of creating awareness among the school students about the appropriate and growth prospects in various fields and professions. He further exhorted that such drives should be organized as a regular feature to help the youth. Prof. Bhupinder Singh, Head Department of Education lauded the effort of the department and said that in times of confusions and dilemma such counselling sessions help the adolescents to make wiser decisions regarding their careers.
Informing about the drive, Dr. Harneet Billing, Department In-charge said that the teacher trainees of seventh semester, of University Education Department, under Community Engagement Program collected information about career and educational opportunities in various academic and career streams, and the same was disseminated during the exhibition. She further shared that the students from various senior secondary schools participated in the drive with enthusiasm and their doubts and questions were answered related to their future career opportunities.
She said that the Principals of these schools appreciated and congratulated the World University for this endeavour. She further added with pride that the exhibition drive was able to meet its objectives successfully. The exhibitions drive was organized at various private and Govt. Sen. Sec. Schools of Fatehgarh Sahib district, under the guidance of Gagandeep Kaur. Career information related to various professions like nursing, Army service, IAS, IPS, teaching, engineering and medical courses along with that of in other Govt. and private sectors, was disseminated during the drive.
