World University VC, students and staff participated in 550th Parkash Purab Celebrations

Vice-Chancellor, and a group of students and staff of Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University, Fatehgarh Sahib, visited Sultanpur Lodhi, to attend the events in connection with Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s 550th  Prakash Gurpurab celebrations. Vice-Chancellor Dr. Prit Pal Singh said that the students and staff of the University are constantly participating in various events being organized by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee since 01 November, 2019. He expressed his happiness that the University boys’ team stood first in the Gatka competition of the students of various colleges, universities and Gurmat Vidyalayas held by the Shiromani Committee during previous days. In addition, students of the Department of Music of the University participated in the Keertan Samagams organized by the Shiromani Committee.

He said that in the sequence, students and staff of the Department of Computer of the University visited Sultanpur Lodhi under the guidance of Amandeep Kaur, Assistant Professor and Warden, Bebe Nanaki Girls Hostel. On this occasion, Dr. BirBikram Singh, Assistant Professor and Public Relations Officer, shared the information related to the Holy Historic Gurdwara Sri Ber Sahib with the visiting students and staff. The jatha visited various holy historical shrines, including the Gurdwara Sri Ber Sahib. In addition, all the students and staff attended the Rag Durbar at the main pandal, decorated by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee.  Dr. BirBikram Singh said that along with Vice-Chancellor Prit Pal Singh, Sikh scholars Dr. Paramvir Singh, Professor, Punjabi University, Patiala, Dr. Paramjit Singh Mansa and S. Harkrishan Singh were the co-travellers. Sharing further information, he said that another large batch of students and staff of the university would leave tomorrow, in five buses, to attend the ongoing functions in connection with the 550th Prakash Gurpurab celebrations.
