Educational revolution and anti-drug campaign set new milestones in Punjab; 32 Govt school students crack JEE Advanced-Bains
Bahadurjeet Singh/ Sri Anandpur Sahib, June 3,2025
The wave of educational revolution sweeping through Punjab has broken previous records and set new benchmarks. Following the success of 260 students in the JEE Mains examination, 32 students from government schools across the state have now cleared the JEE Advanced examination, marking a major milestone in the state’s public education system.
Today, while congratulating Punjab Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains for these educational achievements, Dr. Sanjeev Gautam, Chairman of Guru Ravidas Ayurvedic University, Harminder Singh Dhahe, Chairman of District Planning Committee, Ram Kumar Mukhari, District Coordinator, Kamikkar Singh Dadhi, Chairman, and Deepak Soni, Media Coordinator, stated that when the MLA of Sri Anandpur Sahib and Punjab’s Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains assumed charge of the education department in 2022, he became the youngest education minister in the country.
Since then, he visited over 1,200 government schools in Punjab, directly understanding and addressing their core challenges, and began transforming the landscape of public education across the state.
The leaders explained that the Minister first ensured essential infrastructure in government schools — including boundary walls, furniture, classrooms, laboratories, libraries, and playgrounds — and timely distribution of textbooks. He also facilitated student transportation, deployed security guards and campus managers in schools.
Dreams of facilities like sports grounds, astro-turf fields, shooting ranges, and all-weather swimming pools in government schools have started materializing. Furthermore, school principals have been trained on education reforms by sending them to Singapore, while headmasters and primary school leaders were sent to prestigious institutions in India and Finland at government expense.
Government school students from Punjab also witnessed the Chandrayaan-3 launch at ISRO, showing the impact of this visionary educational approach. As a result of this forward-thinking strategy, 32 students from government schools succeeded in the highly competitive JEE Advanced examination, following the earlier success of 260 students in the JEE Mains.
The government also arranged JEE Advanced coaching at its own level. The Minister envisions establishing proper coaching facilities in government colleges for all competitive exams in the future.
Under the “C-PYTE” camps, the government is also providing free coaching, accommodation, and meals for students aspiring to join the country’s security forces.
The leaders added that today, this wave of educational transformation has become a matter of pride for the people of the Sri Anandpur Sahib constituency. Students from private and convent schools are now seeking admission to government institutions.
They further stated that the anti-drug campaign in Punjab has caused panic among drug dealers. Due to the far-sighted vision of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, over 11,000 drug peddlers have been sent to jail, and illegal buildings built with black money are being demolished. This is the true picture of a changing Punjab.
