EMRC Patiala Bags National-Level Award at 26th CEC-UGC Educational Film Festival

Educational Multimedia Research Centre (EMRC) , Patiala bagged its first-ever award in a national-level festival as Dr. Tejinder Singh won the Best MOOC Award at the 26th CEC-UGC Educational Film Festival. The festival concluded at the University of Lucknow from March 20-22. Among the winners, Dr. Tejinder Singh received the award, which included a trophy, a certificate, and a cash prize of INR 50,000. The award was presented by Prof. N. K. Lokanath, Vice Chancellor of the University of Mysuru, along with Prof. J.B. Nadda, Director, Consortium for Educational Communications (CEC), and Dr. Sunil Mehru, Joint Director (Software), CEC, New Delhi.
Representing Educational Multimedia Research Centre (EMRC) Patiala at the event were Daljit Ami, Director, and Chandan Kumar, Producer, who joined in celebrating this milestone. The highlights of the awarded module of the MOOC were screened on March 21, following which Dr. Tejinder Singh expressed gratitude to the festival organizers and acknowledged Daljit Ami for his unwavering support and motivation. Daljit Ami congratulated the winner and emphasized the significance of this achievement, noting that it marks the first-ever award in the more than three-decade-long history of EMRC Patiala, a center established by UGC at Punjabi University. Chandan Kumar echoed this sentiment, expressing confidence that this recognition is just the beginning of many more accolades to come.
It is worth mentioning that EMRC Patiala has improved its performance and profile in recent years. Recently, EMRC Patiala signed an MoU with the Anti Narcotics Traffic Force (ANTF) to create digital content for educational and awareness purposes on drug abuse, which will become part of the school curriculum. EMRC Patiala has also received approval for a proposal to create a MOOC in the Punjabi language, which will be the first-ever Punjabi MOOC to be offered through the SWAYAM portal.
