EMRC Patiala’s MOOC Wins Best MOOC Award at the 26th CEC-UGC Educational Film Festival

The Educational Multimedia Research Centre (EMRC), Patiala, is proud to announce that the MOOC module Environmental Pollution and Human Health has been selected for the Best MOOC Award at the upcoming 26th CEC-UGC Educational Film Festival. The Jury announced the results on February 27, and Dr. Sunil Mehru, Joint Director (Software) of the Consortium for Educational Communication (CEC), New Delhi, circulated the official notification to the awardees via email.
This MOOC, developed and offered via SWAYAM by EMRC Patiala, is part of the larger course Environment Policy and Administration. Dr. Tejinder Singh, Producer, EMRC Patiala, is the recipient of this prestigious award as the producer of the MOOC. Congratulating the entire production team and the Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Daljit Ami, Director, EMRC Patiala, emphasized that EMRC serves as a hub where diverse skills and institutions converge to create high-quality digital educational content. He specifically commended Dr. Tejinder Singh for his hard work and dedication in bringing this project to fruition. Dr. Tejinder Singh said that this award belongs to the whole team involved in production. Chandan Kumar, another producer in EMRC congratulated all his colleagues for the award and said that it will motivate other to follow the footsteps.
The success of this MOOC is also attributed to the collaborative academic contributions of Dr. Tejpal Dhewa, Course Coordinator (Central University of Haryana, Mahendergarh), whose leadership and subject expertise were invaluable, and Dr. Neha Singh, Assistant Professor, Bhaskaracharya College, University of Delhi, who served as the Subject Matter Expert and presenter. Her expertise and engaging delivery made the course highly informative and accessible to learners. The administrative and technical staff of EMRC Patiala also played a crucial role in ensuring the smooth execution of this project.
The MOOC comprises 50 modules, with the award-winning module presented by Dr. Neha Singh. Prof. Karamjit Singh, Vice Chancellor of Punjabi University, Patiala, congratulated the EMRC staff on this occasion and highlighted that digital education is rapidly emerging as a powerful medium for learning. He emphasized that such national-level recognition helps institutions grow in the right direction, reinforcing their commitment to academic excellence and technological innovation.
